FELICIA PRIDE
Hi! I’m Felicia Pride and I’m a TV writer / producer and an award-winning filmmaker. Cedits include: BEL-AIR, GREY’S ANATOMY, QUEEN SUGAR, REALLY LOVE). My career in media and entertainment has spanned almost twenty-five years. Prior to writing for the screen, I held roles in marketing, distribution, impact, editorial, and education. From helping social justice organizations raise seven figures for media projects to assisting hundreds of filmmakers craft release strategies, I am considered a “swiss army knife” because of my unique, multifaceted experience as a storyteller, marketer, and entrepreneur.
I moved to Hollywood at 35 years old determined to get my first feature made. I had no idea what I was doing… but within two years of my arrival, that feature film, REALLY LOVE was made.
I know run HONEY CHILE, a media + production company that tells stories by, for, and / or about Black women 40+. HONEY CHILE currently has projects setup at Amazon, CBS Studios, and Lifetime. The first podcast out of its audio division, CHILE, PLEASE, was twice-nominated for an NAACP image award. And its latest feature film proof of concept, LOOK BACK AT IT, which I wrote and directed, was a film festival darling, winning the audience award at the BlackStar Film Festival and receiving a nomination for the prestigious Humanitas Prize in screenwriting.
As an in-demand writer, I am currently developing two shows (a comedy and a drama) with Netflix, has written features for Universal, Sony, and AGC, and my first produced feature REALLY LOVE debuted on Netflix and was a Top Ten Movie on the platform.
I’m committed to helping my fellow storytellers create great work and build sustainable careers. I encouraged thousands of historically excluded storytellers through my former platform, The Create Daily, which she founded in 2012, and now, currently through my newsletter The Sweet Build.
